Wool Yarn
There are many types of wool. Different breeds of sheep will produce different types of wool. Some breeds will produce a finer, softer wool used for knitting and crochet. Other breeds product coarser wool used for carpets and other hardwearing fabrics. Wool yarn is also used for felting. Some wools felt better than others - the finer, short to medium fibers tend to felt quicker and better than the longer fibers.
Wool does shrink worse than most fibers and care should be taken when cleaning your wool garments. Dry cleaning is best, but careful hand washing in lukewarm water and laying flat to dry will work for some items, especially if they are not 100% wool.
